01 · INTRODUCTION

WHO WE ARE.

Distinct Mastering ("we," "us," "our") operates the website at distinctmastering.com and provides professional audio mastering, mixing, and production services. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information you share with us when you visit the site, submit a contact form, send files for mastering, or subscribe to our email list.

By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described below.

02 · WHAT WE COLLECT

INFORMATION WE COLLECT.

We collect only what we need to deliver our services and respond to you. Specifically:

  • CONTACT DETAILS
Name, email address, and any information you voluntarily include in a contact-form message or email.
  • PROJECT FILES
Audio files (WAV, AIFF, stems) you send for mastering, mixing, or production, along with any session notes you attach.
  • PAYMENT INFORMATION
Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI-compliant systems.
  • TECHNICAL DATA
Basic analytics: IP address, browser type, referring page, pages visited. Used only to understand site performance.
03 · HOW WE USE IT

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver mastering, mixing, and production services you've requested
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
  • Process payments and send invoices or receipts
  • Send service-related emails (project updates, delivery notifications)
  • Send marketing emails — only if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe any time
  • Improve the website and understand how visitors use it
  • Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes
04 · SHARING & THIRD PARTIES

WHO SEES YOUR DATA.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with trusted service providers who help us run the business:

  • Stripe — payment processing (see stripe.com/privacy)
  • Email service — for newsletters and service notifications
  • Analytics — Google Analytics or similar (aggregate traffic data)
  • File hosting — secure cloud storage for audio file transfer
  • Legal compliance — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights

These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and use it only for the services they perform for us.

05 · COOKIES & TRACKING

COOKIES.

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — most of the site will still work, but some features may be limited.

We may also use analytics cookies (like Google Analytics) to collect aggregate data about site traffic. This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally.

06 · DATA SECURITY

HOW WE PROTECT IT.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including SSL encryption on the website and secure cloud storage for files you send us. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe on their PCI-compliant infrastructure — we never see or store card details ourselves. Your masters and source files remain your property; we hold them only as long as needed to deliver the service and keep a reasonable backup window.

No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

07 · YOUR RIGHTS

YOUR CHOICES.

Depending on where you live (California, EU, UK, etc.), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.

08 · CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

CHILDREN.

Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

09 · POLICY CHANGES

UPDATES.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the revised policy.
