The snare provides a crucial element in any song that holds everything together. But how do you EQ your snare so that it sounds great with other elements in your mix? You must leave space for the snare which can take up a large chunk of the frequency spectrum. You want the snare to be crisp, and snappy but still have weight and a bottom end. Without these characteristics, the snare can sound lifeless and dull. I’m going to show you some of my favorite mixing tricks for getting punchy and crisp snares for your mix.
